That honor goes to Michael Pinto's 1973 AMC Javelin SST. For reals. "I fnally own my original dream car, an AMC Javelin!" he posted. The car had been sitting since 1986, and fve years ago Michael picked up the factory 360-powered car. He has been posting updates and photos ever since, with his online album approaching 200 images. Including the $25 purchase price, Michael is $2676.55 into the project. His GRM community nickname? Appropriately enough, it's Javelin. DRIVERS MEETING Paul Przyborski, known on our mes- sage board as Gimp, purchased a well- optioned, V6-powered 1981 Camaro in 2000. Eventually it received a hotted-up V8. "After a few failed emissions tests, it got parked and I kinda forgot about it," he writes. Half a dozen years ago, he started to build it for SCCA C Prepared autocross. While still a work in progress, the gutted Camaro shell now features wide-five wheels, a full-foating rear end, and the requisite giant slicks. So far the build has taken up 12 message board pages. The powertrain will be a 377-cubic-inch Chevy mated to a Jerico WC4 four-speed dog ring transmission, Paul explains.
