DRIVERS MEETING Grassroots Motorsports 27 Each year the Wendi Allen Scholarship is awarded to a pair of female autocross- ers who, according to the SCCA, "not only display a high level of driving talent, but also a deep involvement in the Solo community." The general membership nominates drivers, and a group of top female drivers then makes the fnal deci- sion. This year's recipients are Elisabeth Flannagan and Elizabeth Wildenberg. "By winning this scholarship, I can attend a lot more events this season than I would have been able to do oth- erwise," Wildenberg says. "This will also be my frst time going to Nationals. To say the least, I am really excited." The scholarship is named after the multi-time SCCA Solo champion who recently lost her battle with cancer–one of her titles, in fact, came in a GRM project car. j.g. pasterjak photo Solo Awards Scholarships to Top Female Autocrossers scott terrace photo Thanks to the gener the Wendi Allen Scholarship, Elisabeth Flannagan (in the Honda) and Elizabeth Wildenberg (driving the BMW) will be able to take their autocrossing to the next level.
