At Miller, the season champions were crowned. It was a trying, stressful accomplishment for most. For this year's GTS champion, Lawson Aschenbach, it was either feast or famine–podium fnishes or races he'd rather forget. Despite some stumbles, Lawson Aschenbach claimed his second-consecu- tive class title. IMSA's second-to-last weekend on the 2014 schedule visited Circuit of The Americas, the new Formula 1 track in Austin, Texas. The big story: This would be the only American appearance for the Le Mans WEC endurance cars. The other big story: A monster deluge soon after the WEC headliner sent many contenders skidding into the gravel and caused offcials to red-fag the race for an extended period. The WEC cars might have gotten the best spots in the paddock, but as usual the IMSA Continental Tire Challenge cars put on a great show. Trent Hindman and John Edwards scored the GS-class win, keeping Hindman at the top of the points race.
