Haven't driven a Porsche 911? Perhaps it's time to borrow one for a few. Oh hell, just buy one. I subscribe to both of your publications, but it was a simple quote from Seth Lemke in the latest issue of Grass- roots Motorsports that will probably stay with me as long as my foot can press an accelerator: "Money may not buy happiness, but it can buy a 911, and that's pretty much the same thing!" Don Dominick Ralph Talks About Money I gave up golf because every- thing that was going to take three strokes off my game was going to cost $300 or more. So I went back to motor racing, where everything that is going to take 3 seconds off my lap times is going to cost $1300 or more. You just can't win. Ralph Bush Ralph Talks About Fame Since everybody and I mean e v e r y b o d y r e a d s G r a s s r o o t s Motorsports and you had a little blurb about me in the February 2015 issue, I was introduced at the April NASA drivers meeting at Sonoma as a teammate of Barney Oldfeld. Thanks a lot. Ralph Bush Ralph might not be the young- est guy on the grid, but his letters always make us smile. He's been racing since 1957 and recently turned 80. The next time you're at a West Coast NASA race, look for his famed Thunder Roadster. Engine Swaps Congratulations on updating the MGB to a DOHC, fuel-injected motor. A very worthwhile swap. Now what you have is the base for the most undervalued sports car of the '80s, the Fiat 124 Spider! Of course, you don't get the four-wheel disc brakes, five - speed tranny, great convertible top design, or Pininfarina styling! All of these were stock on the Fiat from 1969, with the exception of the fuel-injected motor (stock after 1980). I'm just sayin'. Craig Nelson Just think: If we had started with a Fiat, it would be a very short series. Seriously, glad to hear that you guys are digging the project. Ran When Wrecked Just received GRM and imme- d i a t e l y r e a d t h e " Ra n W h e n Wrecked" article. Loved the title, article and the case studies. I sub- scribe to C/D, R&T;, Automobile, etc., but they have very few articles that are as interesting as most of GRM. Keep up the good work! Mike Dorohoff Miata engineer Norman Gar- rett hit last issue's cover story out of the park, and we're glad to hear that it got the creative juices flowing. Looking for a deal on your next project car? The local insurance auction may have your starting point. Taming the Dragon I am new to the magazine and have been loving reading the articles! Hands down the best automotive magazine I have read! That being said, I was wonder- ing if you ever take your project cars or have events at Deals Gap. The main road and surrounding ones as well are just amazing driving roads. Really believe that all of your staff would just love the adventure and location. Also, they have meets there all the time–Miata, Z-vehicle and rotary meets. Just thought it would make a great article and experience for all of you. Thank you for your time. John Frost Sadly Deals Gap isn't in our backyard, but this year we spent some time in that part of the coun- try–well, kind of–when we hosted the Coker Tire Tour, a drive from the tire company's Chattanooga headquarters to Road A tlanta for our Speedfest at the Classic Motorsports Mitty Presented by Hagerty. Yes, we need to get up there more often. WHAT'S ON YOUR MIND? TELL US AT EDITOR@GRASSROOTSMOTORSPORTS.COM READER LETTERS Grassroots Motorsports 46 seth lemke photo
